No free drinks on the floor however complementary soda coffee etc. How will wait for free hotel offers hopefully haha. Would I come again? Probably not because it's so far away. If I was in Maine sure I would swing by but I wouldn't go out if ya way. It's ten minutes from my home.. It needs a poker room and a decent Restaurant if you are coming from the south stop in Portland for your meal But the staff is friendly it's clean and you don't have to wait in line for a seat at a table game most of the time!
Also the limits even on a Friday or Saturday night are fairly low! This is a very nice casino to have just an hour away from home. The layout isn't the most ideal - everything is very crammed in, with the slots virtually spilling out the front door and very little walking room to get between machines. Instead, they just speed through the gaming floor shouting "cocktail! Not bad for a Casino in Maine. The parking lot was full and it was also pretty full inside.
It's not a big casino like Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun but it has plenty of options and is clean and well taken care of. I noticed that it looked like it had a hotel attached, I'm not sure how that is but it's a hike from my house I was up there visiting family so maybe next time I'll try the hotel part.
You definitely gotta spend money to win any here! Luck ain't real 15 percent sure feels like 1. Keep It Fun I love the fact this is a non smoking casino! Yummm a little pricey, but for good reason all the food we ordered was great. Haddock fresh and very flavorful. Chicken parm great but my fav was the buffalo chicken dip This is a nice casino with a very clean hotel.
Granted, the hotel is practically brand new so I wouldn't expect anything less The food wasn't spectacular and nothing to write home about. I opted for a basic cheese quesadilla and my boyfriend got the poutine and a side of wings - he said it was all excellent. The casino is mostly filled with slots - a lot of penny slots it seemed like. There is a bar within the casino that allows one drink every half hour A waitress or manager came up to me at There is a coffee and soda bar on the house available, but you do have to pay for alcohol.
It is a nice little casino for a quick overnight stay but I'd rather be at Mohegan Sun! This isn't to say that I won't return to Oxford, because I will! Can't even bring a water into the casino.
I was disappointed in the casino. The hotel was new beds were comfy and the room was nice New hotel is no different than the Hampton Inn accross the street, with thinner walls. Same dour gray-brown paint. Same price range or more. Can't order food to pick up from room. There is no valet there seems to be no pool no room service. Despite new hotel, same small number of slots. The only real difference is you know you wont get run over crossing route 26, which has actually happened to people.
Don't quote me but I think the front desk told me that you're going to get charged an extra half a day if you stay till 1: On the other hand if you ask for a host if you've been gambling you can probably get a comped room. Suites will be available by Overall everything anyone writes about this hotel or Casino needs to be taken with a grain of salt because whatever is here now is probably a little bit better than the empty woods that were here before.
And I'm sure if you live around here it's a nice bonus to have the services. Much more ethnically diverse than the rest of Maine. As for the gambling, small slots selection of the exact same slots found at every casino in America.
Proven to do their job and getting more sophisticated at taking your money as time goes on. I don't think so sorry just my opinion. Most boring high limit room north of the equator. Bottom line is here I guess someone had to pay for all those political ads against the proposed Kittery casino. That would be YOU. I used to work for Harrahs, lived in Nevada, been to casinos in 8 states. This place seems to be the one of the worst in terms of payback of anywhere I've been to.
Too bad because it's kind of fun, other than all the workers in Patriots jerseys and I love the Pats. But I limit myself to one visit every four months or so. Clearly if they loosen up the slots more people like me would come more often and spend more money on rooms and food so they are self-limiting.
May never come back I don't know. Table games seem OK. Otherwise they seem happy with their southern Maine monopoly and won't be loosening up slots to lure anyone away from anywhere else because they're isn't any competition. Went here for the first time last week. Before entering the casino I was asked to show my ID, which was scanned by one of the men guarding the entrance.
Then I was asked for a second form of ID. I was a bit confused as to why I needed a second form of ID when the people in front of me only had to show their IDs. I asked the man what I should use, since I had only brought cash and my ID so I wouldn't lose my credit card or feel tempted to spend more money than I wanted to. I asked why I needed a second form or ID and the man didn't answer my question.
So, after walking to the casino from the Hilton across the 4 lanes of traffic and being passed by the casino shuttle twice I had to walk all the way back to my hotel room where my belongings were safely stored to grab my card and then make the trip back. I walk in and I hear the man say to the other man next to him "wow I didn't think she was actually going to come back. At that point I was already pretty irritated. There's a lot of slot machines crammed into a small space. There's even machines about 10 feet from the entrance.
I did like the variety they had. There were plenty of penny slots. Which made the money last longer and the experience a little mor exciting. I also liked that you could sit back with a drink and play.
The bar was also pretty decent although service with a smile would have made it even better. I was a bit disappointed that the hotel wasn't done yet, my boyfriend and I had planned on staying there and assumed it was done since they were advertising themselves as Oxford "Casino and Hotel" now I may be back when they finish the hotel and see how things have changed.. The new addition made this place so much better. The new restaurant the OX Pub has probably the best selection of local breweries I've seen in a while.
I ate here 3 times and loved everything I got. This is on par with fine pub dining. Everything is well made and top quality. Even the French fries were the best I've ever had! Casino is still the same. Although I was pleasantly surprised to have all good experiences while playing blackjack.
In the past there were some dead weight pitching cards. All the floor staff and crew were great. So that just means a tip more! New casino section is large and beautiful! Not bad for the quick get away pay outs are fair staff is there and hotel if you can't make it home This casino is small. You can never find a waitress you have to leave the spot you are gambling at to get a drink at the bar and even then there is only one bartender.
I spent half my time getting drinks. But other than that it was fun. I've spent a fair amount of time in different casinos. I used to live in Montana and have been to Las Vegas a handful of times. Out west, you literally see everything from elaborate, themed, casinos to a dive bar slot machine in the corner.
This falls somewhere in between. For a casino that's more or less in the middle of nowhere, this one isn't too bad.
It's clean, non smoking, and the staff is friendly. When you sit at a table, you can tell, the dealers are no professionals, sometimes mistakes happen.
They also don't have the highest standards for consistent grooming that many other places seem to have: Hair cuts, shaving, shirts being pressed It's way more casual, which is fine. I do think the prices at the tables should reflect that. The bar is nice and the bartender pours a strong drink.
They also have the old school 25c video poker imbedded in the bar, which is fun to play. The people who patronize this place seem to be locals. They remind me of the clientele I would see at out-of-the-way farmland or reservation casinos.
Overall people are friendly and relaxed. The restaurant has a sit down area and a quick pick-up section. I ate at the restaurant, which was okay, nothing to write home about. Next time, next time. Not sure if you should or could expect much else. What a pleasant surprise this casino is. I was there the week of July 16th. If you go, don't expect it to be a Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun But despite some of the reviews here, I found it to be quite adequate in size bigger than some I've been to , not tiny as one reviewer would have you believe, and quite busy with customers no matter what time of day or day of the week.
The best feature for me is that many of the slots still have low bets, 30 cents, 40 cents, and even a couple with 25 cents. Some casinos these days start off with 60 cents, which is OK, but if you are not into initial heavy betting, and like to start off low on a machine just to see how it works, this place is great.
I'm not a table player, but there were many. The atmosphere is friendly. They have daily promotions, including Senior Day on Weds, where all you have to do is register at a special set of kiosks, and they draw names once an hour for several hours. I didn't stay at the hotel or eat meals there, so I can't comment on that, but right across the street is a Hampton Inn, which is quite good.
It's loud in here be ready, But no smoking inside, which is great. I played a few dollars on a machine and lost it all so stopped LOL. There are plenty of machines for players that like high or low stakes, tables, and roulette too. They have a restaurant there as well, but we passed on that, electing to eat at the Lost Gull seafood hole in the wall down the road.
Went for first time this week I live in Maine and it too an hour and 35 min. We were very impressed with the outside and inside. It was very clean and organized. Own or manage this property?
